There are too few Christian pastors, evangelists, and missionaries from Muslim backgrounds. And from that group, an even smaller number return to work among their own people.
The scant number of Gospel workers probably corresponds to the scant number of conversions from Islam; but it is definitely disproportionate to the more than 1.3 billion Muslims who still need to be evangelized.
Christ commanded us to ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field.
PRAYER
Father, I pray that all Muslim converts will become actively involved in bringing their own people into the Kingdom.
Please, Lord, call many from among them into full-time service. May the voice that called Isaiah ring again in the hearts of many Muslim converts: “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8). May they respond as Isaiah did with humility and obedience.
I pray that you will raise up many church leaders across all Muslim countries. I add my voice to that of Moses and pray to you, the God of all mankind. Please appoint shepherds over your people to lead them and help manage their affairs (Numbers 27:16-17).
Prepare them for ministry among Muslims. Fill them with your Holy Spirit. Grant them boldness to preach the truth. Endue them with the gifts of the Spirit. Make them worthy of your call, and by your power help them to fulfill every good purpose and every act of faith. Through them, O Lord Jesus, bring a great harvest of souls into the Kingdom.
PROMISE
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him (Mark 1:17-18, NIV).
