This week we pray about the importance of having the Bible in People’s Language

Most people do not know that centuries ago, Christianity was spread throughout much of Arabia, an area which today includes several hard-core Muslim countries.

However, even before Islam ravaged that area, Christianity in those regions was already plagued with sectarianism, strife, and heresies. But the most devastating factor, we believe, was the lack of God’s Word in Arabic.

Clearly, the fact that the Bible (or even the New Testament) was not available in Arabic had a negative and detrimental impact on Christianity in the Arabian Peninsula. May God help us to make his Word available to all people in their heart languages.

If converts to Christ are to persevere in their faith and live a victorious life that honors the Savior, they must have God’s Word in their language. Even those who are unable to read find comfort, guidance, and assurance when they listen to God’s Word.

PRAYER I pray that those countries which ban the Bible will open up to you and to your eternal Word. May bookstores in every Muslim country carry Bibles and Bible portions.

Speak to Muslims, O Lord, through your Word. Make them thirsty and hungry to hear and understand your Word. Give them the desire to believe and obey it. Give them the passion to be true followers of Christ the Lord.

Help them know how to claim your promises and strengthen themselves through your Word.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PROMISE

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2024 This week we pray about the importance of having the Bible in People’s Language Most people do not know that centuries ago, Christianity was spread throughout much of Arabia, an area which today includes several hard-core Muslim countries. Almighty God, our Father in heaven, thank you for the Bible translations we have in many languages. Thank you for the Arabic translations of the Bible. Thank you that the Bible is available in the people’s language in the Arab world.

How sweet are your words to my taste; they are sweeter than honey…. I rejoice in your word like one who finds a great treasure (Psalm 119:103, 162, NLT).
