Muhammad Mansour

Muhammad Mansour

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2024

Muhammad Mansour graduated from Islamic schools with distinction. He went on to become the imam (leader) of the mosque in Suhag in southern Egypt. Later he established an Islamic school.

Somehow, he felt a need to destroy the “religion of Christians.” To do that, he prepared by reading the Bible. But as he read the Word of God, he discovered the truth. After struggling with doubt, confusion, and anxiety, he made up his mind: Christ is the Savior of the world.

His town and family rose in anger against him but couldn’t find him, because he had gone to Cairo to be baptized. His uncle then followed him and tried to kill him. Miraculously, he was not even hurt. He courageously witnessed to his uncle and then kindly escorted him to the train station.

Sheikh Mansour became a preacher of the Gospel he had once attempted to destroy. For many years he traveled all over Egypt, leading Muslims and non-Muslims to Christ the Lord. He even led his brother Kamil to Christ. When I was a young university student, I heard Kamil Mansour lead in prayer many times in the largest church in the Middle East.

PRAYER

Our Father in heaven, how grateful we are for your grace! Your ways are unfathomable, your love is profound. We thank you for the life and legacy of Sheikh Muhammad Mansour. We want to see countless more people like him!

Give us the courage that led Mansour from the mosque lectern to the pulpit at scores of churches to preach Jesus Christ, Savior and Lord. Give us wisdom and kindness like he had, never insulting Muslims, but gently and tenderly leading them to the cross of Jesus.

Anoint us with your Holy Spirit to be effective messengers and see the Lord Jesus change the lives of countless Muslims. Amen.

PROMISE

Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful in a small matter, so I will put you in charge of big matters. Come and enjoy your master’s happiness (Matthew 25:21, SAB).

New Church Leaders

New Church Leaders

FRIDAY, JULY 12, 2024  There are too few Christian pastors, evangelists, and missionaries from Muslim backgrounds. And from that group, an even smaller number return to work among their own people.  The scant number of Gospel workers probably corresponds to the scant...

Road Signs for Muslims To Follow Christ

Road Signs for Muslims To Follow Christ

FRIDAY, JULY 5, 2024  The Lord is calling many Muslims to come out of the dark prison of sin and make their way to freedom, life, and joy in Christ. God asks us, his Church, to be ready for them, to go outside our confines, our boundaries—to prepare the way for many...

Islam Projected to Rise

Muslims make up the second largest religious group, with 1.7 billion people, or 24% of the world’s population, followed by religious “nones” (16%), Hindus (15%) and Buddhists (7%). Adherents of folk religions, Jews and members of other religions make up smaller shares of the world’s people.
